Developing Leaders and Partnerships
Jason has a strong record in guiding people and building strategic collaborations. Throughout his career, he has overseen more than a thousand advisors and 60 leaders across Canada. He has also been instrumental in establishing more than 200 business partnerships with associations, groups, and government institutions. Each of these partnerships was formed to deliver specialized, value-driven financial services that meet the needs of families, professionals, and organizations.

Professional Career
Founder & CEO, Nolos Cabinet Multidisciplinaire Inc
In 2022, Ghassan Barakat founded Nolos Cabinet Multidisciplinaire Inc., a Canadian company that unites FinTech, InsurTech, and LegalTech into one platform. The company was built to expand access to financial and legal services for middle-class families.
As CEO, Jason designed a unique ecosystem that includes a Quebec-based legal firm, a notarial study, and a national financial MGA (Master General Agency). This MGA distributes protection and wealth solutions from Canada’s leading financial institutions. He assembled a multidisciplinary team of lawyers, notaries, financial planners, and related specialists to deliver these services across Canada.
Growth at Nolos has been accelerated through acquisitions and partnerships. In 2022, Ghassan acquired Skylegal, a legaltech company based in Quebec. In 2023, he launched a charitable foundation focusing on access to justice and financial protection, particularly for families working on estate and legacy planning.
Recently, Jason also acquired a technology company that develops specialized software and applications for public and private institutions. This addition expanded Nolos's B2B capabilities and strengthened its position as a platform that connects legal and financial services with technology.
Previous Leadership Roles
Alongside entrepreneurship, Jason Barakat continues to act as a Strategic Senior Consultant. His recent mandates have included projects with Chubb Insurance, the world’s largest publicly traded insurance company, and other major firms. His consulting work focuses on innovation in financial services, system integration, B2B2C distribution, and strategies for client value creation.
From 2003 until 2021, Jason served as President and Principal Officer with AMF (Financial Market Authorities in Quebec) of La Capitale Services Conseils. During this period, he helped transform the company by increasing assets under management from $300 million to over $3 billion and expanding specialized financial services for Quebec public sector employees.
In 2017, Ghassan became President of La Capitale Financial Security (formerly Penncorp Life Insurance). The company served self-employed and blue-collar Canadians with disability and personal finance solutions. He introduced a modernized compensation structure, built a culture of inclusion and performance, and improved profitability through stronger operational systems.
He also served as President of SSQ Financial Group Distribution for one year. There, he focused on modernizing retirement financial planning for gray-collar clients, integrating advisor networks following a merger, and improving profitability and compliance standards while maintaining a strong client experience.
Philanthropic Engagement
Ghassan Barakat's career has been marked by community involvement and philanthropy. For over twenty years, he has participated in the Guignolet de Saint-Vincent de Paul, supporting efforts to raise funds during the holiday season for those in need. He has also supported charitable causes related to public institutions, particularly in areas connected with retirement planning.
He has given time and resources to Canadian bishops’ initiatives. He is currently contributing to developing an elementary and high school that will serve the community and support generational value transfer. Jason also shares his knowledge by mentoring entrepreneurs and speaking on financial literacy, leadership, and entrepreneurship.
In 2021, he partnered with Peartree Canada to support family offices, high-net-worth individuals, and organizations in their philanthropic planning. This partnership helped create opportunities for families and organizations to increase their social impact through structured giving.
Ghassan also founded the Nolos Foundation, which is dedicated to providing families with access to Justice and family Legacy Planning. In addition to this foundation, he remains active as a volunteer leader for nonprofit boards and interfaith humanitarian initiatives.
Education
Jason attended Concordia University John Molson School of Business, studying finance, business law, and theology. His education includes extensive studies in securities, investments, exempt markets, estate planning, individual and group insurance, venture capital, and strategic philanthropy. Over the years, he has earned a wide range of certifications that support his professional expertise.
Family and Values
